BEST Scholarship Application
Thank you for your interest in the Black Ex-Students of Texas Scholarship Program.
BEST awards scholarships to incoming freshman and continuing students at The University of Texas at Austin. To apply for these annual awards download the application below. Scholarship monies can only be used for tuition, fees, or other related educational expenses. Award checks will be sent directly to the University.
- Complete the application as instructed and submit via email using the button on the application by the stated deadline.
- Every applicable field in the application must be completed. Not applicable (N/A) is an appropriate response when necessary.
- An unofficial UT transcript must also be sent via email with the application. Please note, if you are an incoming freshman, submit your high school transcript. If you are a recent transfer student, submit your transcript from your previous university/college.
- Must be a full time student at UT Austin with at least 2 semesters remaining before graduating.

High School seniors entering their first year at UT or those college freshman in their first semester at UT should complete the sections labeled "High School Graduating Seniors/1st Semester UT Freshman" as these are the portions applicable to First Year College Students. Please note, for graduating high school seniors, you must be accepted into UT in order to apply for this scholarship.
- The essay requires a minimum of 300 words.
If any of the above requirements are not met, the scholarship application will not be considered.
